FAQ'S
We're Super Friendly And Here To Help!
Here’s a little list with the answers to the most frequently asked questions at Wine for Dudes! If there’s anything else you want to know, please feel free to drop us a note or give us a quick call and we’ll be more than happy to answer them for you!
Are there Terms & Conditions, or a Cancellation Policy?
Yes… you can view our terms and conditions, and our cancellation policy by clicking here.
Are your tours just for young guys?
Absolutely not!… ‘Wine for Dudes’ means ‘Wine for Everyone’!! The dudes name derived from the fabulous woman who founded Wine for Dudes (she’s a bit of a local legend in her own right), who used to who call everyone “dude” …guys, girls, young and old …you were all a dude, and you were all welcome to join a Wine for Dudes tour to discover wine in a fun, relaxed, informative, and non-intimidating atmosphere.
Can you cater for my specific dietary requirements?
With advance notice… Absolutely! All the wineries and breweries that we dine at for lunch are well experienced in catering for specific food allergies and dietary requirements.
Restaurants are unable to guarantee that their kitchens are purely nut and dairy-free due to other dishes containing these ingredients being prepared in the same kitchen. Please note, this is standard industry practice and beyond our control.
Please note that our office arranges all the lunches in advance, so informing your tour guide on the day may be too late!
Can we drink on the bus?
That's a “negative” sorry dudes! It is illegal to have open alcoholic beverages both inside our buses, and in non-licenced areas of the venues we visit (ie: car parks). You will however, never be too far away from your next taste of goodness, so hang in there dudes, we’ll fix you up shortly! 🙂
Do you have Air Conditioning and Heating onboard?
Yes… the whole Wine for Dudes fleet has Air Conditioning and Heating – we will always make sure you are comfortable while you’re inside the buses!
Do we have to pay tasting fees?
Since reopening from Covid back in Jun-ish 2020, most wineries now charge tasting fees.
If you are on a group tour, we will cover the tasting fees at wineries and gourmet food producers. And you just need to purchase your own drinks at the brewery at the end of the day (just because everyone wants something different, so we don’t want to add an extra $20 on for a tasting paddle, if you only want a glass of wine… or a coffee)
Private Charters will be advised of all applicable tasting fees prior to setting the itinerary, and you will usually pay these direct to the venues on the day.
Will the tour still go ahead if it's raining?
Absolutely! …it’s better than going to the beach right? Wine for Dudes operate rain, hail or shine! In fact, if you’re here on holiday and it starts to rain, turn your holiday around, by grabbing a jacket and a scarf and getting out of your hotel room!! We can generally pull up very close to the cellar door entrances to let you out, and the rest of the time you’ll be in the comfort of our vehicles and the venues, and warming up with a vino in hand!!! 🙂
In the rare circumstance that we have to cancel a tour due to being unsafe to operate (ie: extreme winds, bushfires or flooding), we will advise you on the morning of the tour (or earlier if we are aware), and either transfer your booking to the next available day or refund you in full for your booking.
Have you got music on the bus?
Of course… the whole Wine for Dudes fleet has the ability to play music. We have epic playlists, and love to showcase some of the awesome local talent around too. If you would like to play DJ while you’re on tour, please feel free to bring any music device with an AUX cord connection and bang out some tunes. However… if the rest of the bus votes you off DJ duties, then it’s back to our playlists, or another persons turn!
What's the dress code?
Smart casual is good. Most wineries don’t allow fancy dress, therefore it is also discouraged by our company.
Make sure you dress for the season, and wineries. Our temperatures range from single digits in winter, to mid-high 20’s in summer. Most wineries have red gravel driveways, so pretty suede heels during the wet winter months are not usually the best option; and make sure you lube up with sunscreen, and have plenty of water in summer!!
Will you pick us up from our accommodation?

When booking, please ensure you select the correct tour location to suit your pick up address.

Please contact our office for clarification if your suburb is not specifically listed.
Is the tour suitable for kids?
Ahh, the question every parent desperately wants us to say YES too, because you NEED (and very much deserve) a fun day out! …essentially YES, you can bring kids along. All of our guides are awesome with kids, and will happily hang out with them while you’re tasting wine. However, it’s really important to remember that our tours involve the consumption of alcohol throughout the day, and we never know who we’re going to have on board. Although most groups are respectful of kids, we cannot guarantee that the odd F-bomb won’t be dropped by someone on the tour. If you’re ok with this, then you’re welcome to bring them along for half price. We’ll even feed them! 🙂
What about car seats?
We do not supply car seats, and some of our vehicles are not fitted with car seat anchor points. You are welcome to bring a car seat that does not require an anchor point. However if you do need an anchor point, please contact our office to see what vehicle you’re in. Our 13 and 20-passenger vehicles are classified as commercial buses and therefore car seat laws do not apply, meaning kids under 12 months can sit on a guardians knee, and older kids can have their own seat.
Can I bring my dog?
As much as we love doggo’s, we do have to consider our other customers/members of the public who may have a fear or allergy, and the fact that some dogs may have fleas, or cause damage to our vehicles/upholstery. It is for these reasons that we have a blanket “no dogs” policy on the tours sorry. Special assistance dogs are always welcome though.
What is the maximum group size for your tours?
Our vehicles seat 6, 11, 13 and 20 passengers. We utilise all these vehicles for both group tours and private charters depending on the requirements for each day.
Are your tours wheelchair friendly?
It is with great disappointment that we have to say our vehicles are NOT wheelchair friendly. WA laws now require vehicles to be classified as WAV’s (wheelchair accessible vehicles), and drivers to be WAV qualified. Unfortunately we have neither.
